------------------ So, uh, going to a movie on its opening day 20 minutes early... not a good plan. Cause everyone else seems to have gotten there about 40-50 minutes early. Shit seats +1 (not the very front row, but the one behind it). Needless to say, the first fight scene was rather wasted on us up there, but the others were fricken awesome. So discussion. Cool, yes? But did anyone else find it kinda preachy in places? Entertaining movie... but one too many "zomg we are teh epic" speeches in there... idk... i guess i got my fill of that from lotr. I'd rather be shown something epic than have it spelled out for me. Definitely a visual piece, but it did it so spectacularly i can forgive the rest. ------------------ "Only YOU can prevent Persians"

I think I'm probly gonna see this tonight. I had to drive home and my roommate stayed behind and watched it up in college town. And then I get here and it's completely fucking sold out. So, hopefully tonight.

Just came back from seeing it; a very good movie. The speeches didn't really bother me because they were pretty short.

i say you're doing it wrong u must wear a beard and grow a cape like a real man... FOR SPARTA!!!! LOLOL Just saw it last night. I agree it was visually fantastic and accomplished many unique things not done before, but for me some of it was a little over the top. I was right with 'em when we did the oracle and the immortals, and even the hunchback little bastard. But when we got to the big abomination with saws for hands... I feel like some of the things weren't really within the framework of the reality they built. Also, did it bother anyone else that Leonidas kept slipping into a Scottish accent? FOR FFRRREEEEEDOOOOMM!!!! Ok but having said that, it was a fantastic film, gripping and engaging. Despite the 2-hour running time, I never once found myself distracted or squirming in my seat...I cannot say the same for other currently lauded films like Pan's Labyrinth. >.> 1962

LOL in your face Xerxes! P.S. This guy...plays Xerxes And I guess he was also in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle lol

But meh... hollywood bastards, always gotta throw some cooky shit in there. That was frank miller. Everyone in the book whose some kind of asshole (except for the senator dude) is mutated or giant in some way. Also, did it bother anyone else that Leonidas kept slipping into a Scottish accent? FOR FFRRREEEEEDOOOOMM!!!! He talked the whole movie in a scottish accent. Being scottish and all.

And when he told Xerxes that he'd been sharing his culture with them all morning me and my marine buddy next to me fucking died laughin.

Saw it last night. Freaking AWESOME!! Definitely topped my favorite movies list for a while (at least #2 or #3), I just can't get enough of good old fashioned male testosterone powered by matrix effects.
MAN those spartans can kick ASS! All the quick/slow scenes where 1 or 2 spartans would just mow down persian after persian... I was jumping in my seat >_>
And the queen! OMG so awesome.
