So I stress tested the new Lord of The Rings Online game and I have a couple of things to say about it. Also I plan on Beta testing the game too but I believe that begins at the end of this month or something like that.

First off I want to say that it took a lot from many other MMORPGs that I've played.  Everquest, Guild Wars, WoW, come to mind esp when playing this. The same fundemental quest system as in WoW with a large reward of exp for each completed. Quest givers simply have a ring above their heads. The quests are: Kill this, gather that, deliver this.

Instances as far as I'm aware are a little different. Every single instance i did was story-based. However, I dont think this is generally true to every instance because there are many side quests that require a large group. I also believe that if they didnt have any open non-story driven instances they will in the near future.

There was a beginning area much like that in Guild Wars. A sort of "pre-disaster" if you will which is what you would enter into in Guild Wars. Instead of a vast land being massacred though is was just a small town and the adjacent area, by some other humans that worked for the dark lord Sauron.

There are four available races and I BELIEVE 7 available classes. Now keep in mind that in middle earth there are only a few wizards. That means to all those people who like to sit back and cast giant fireballs of mass destruction, too fucking bad. Not to say that you can sit back and nuke...it just wont be with magic.

Races:[/span]

Man
the race with the most jobs, fate, and destiny while having the lowest amount of will.

Dwarf
The race witht he most might and stamina. Also my favorite. Nothing like a good dwarven gaurdian if you ask me.

Hobbit
Heheh, the hobbit. What more is there to say?

Elf
Remember all those elven archers? well yeah, they fucking rock. Took my human champion against one and was DOMINATED. Great agi and incredible rng att proficiency.

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']JOBS:

Champion
General up close and personal DD based on DPS

Gaurdian
The Tank...

Captain
Morale booster! think Pali

Hunter
These are your archers. They're prettymuch the mage replacement along with loremasters. These characters deliver big dmg from afar, aka, nukers. have pets too

Burglar
THEIVES!!!! backstabbing is good, esp as a hobbit

Minstrel
Sing and dance and play various instruments. These people are generally the healers. Dont ask me how plain songs can heal but they do.

Lore-master
Also can heal. Generally support but ive seen some out DPS champions using things like bombs or something. OUCH. they also have pets too, only they get some more skills to go with their pets or something.

Along with exp skills and equipment. This game also allows further customization by adding traits. However, since ive never obtained any myself, i cant tell you much about them. Just that they have 4-5 catagories which you can put traits into.

There are also raids too in this game, though ive never taken part in a raid some others did and people began linking purple lvl 8 items. These items were in general very good. Fire dmg, great base dmg and atk speed, good durability, +dmg to drakes etc.

Armor is defined in 3 different catagories. job AND race both determine what kind of armor you can wear. As you wont see any hobbits walking around in plate mail crafted by the sturdy dwarven race. Also the lvl cap is 50 and while it took me only 4 hours to get to lvl 8 my first time through I'm guessing that it will take longer then wow to reach lvl cap. I did do some traveling with my human to north something so I could capture a screenshot of a dragon, but I unfortunately died on the way when 4 lvl 20ish undead ganked me in a zone i really shouldnt have been in. So no Screenshot, sry!

The game has a lot of potential, they are even planning to incorperate PvP (not to worry though, they already made an official statement that only players wanting to participate in such activities may) those who do not want to get ganked cannot be touched. I dont know how thats going to work yet so dont ask me.

I'll update this as I go along, so, laterz for now. peace!

PvP SERVERS PvP SERVERS!

Ganking is so much fun you guys have no idea lol

I'm assuming it'll be very similar to the "flag" system on Normal (PvE) servers in WoW. Where even if you're in contested/enemy territory, you won't be "flagged" for PvP unless you attack a guard, enter an enemy city, or just flag yourself with a command. Works pretty well if you're not into the PvP scene.

Weak. I loved playing as Horde, the "ugly" faction.

in everquest, if you wanted to pvp you set your character to pvp mode (made your name all red and scary).  But you couldn't make your character normal again unless you got a GM to change it back.

Na, the standards have risen, see, the original was only meant for temporary inhabitance.  I reside there permanently so adjustments had to be made.
