Just an update... rian still doesnt have internet, neither does our galka monk friend tendeion... and deacon has been working 7 days a week 10ish hours a day, so hes not likely to do anything for the time being... hes "living in a hollow shell of an existance" in his words, but hes making buttloads of money. And I've just been busy with other stuff, and waiting for the others to kill the nms so we dont hafta do it more than once and we're all in the same place mission wise. So you guys might as well just do diabolos as many times as you can, and we can either beg for help later (next week maybe?...) or we can accept our crapiness and be banned from sea for a while longer.

Alright, sorry for the lack of communication, but as Koeh has said, i've had many issues the past few weeks with my move. I SHOULD have internet up and going tomorrow afternoon....but i'm not going to guarantee anything >.> I'll post again tomorrow if it happens. If it does, i should have no problems doing all the stuff that needs to be done pre-diabolos before tuesday next week. And on an off note to Koeh and Deacon, i should be ok to static on saturday too.
Anyway, since i'm at work now, i'll leave it at this.

Alright, so i've gotten internet up and running........sorta.....well, it's pretty stable anyway. So i'm ok to do CoP tomorrow, assuming nothing craps out on me tonight.

Alright, so me, Ahrian, and our monk friend Tendeion killed the two nms, were led up the twisted (as in omg wtf why does squeenix hate us) mountain by Aelreth, and finished the cutscene hell. Which was actually pretty decent storyline. Still want some voice actors tho T_T
So we just need to farm our chips. *Might* use windower to drag Ahrian around while i farm them at some point tommorrow, since he doesnt get home till like 7:30 mountain time.
As far as i know, Deacon hasnt killed any nms yet, but *might* do it tommorrow after work. This is just guessing, since i havent actually talked to him, so dont hold me up to that.

Hey guys. Just wanted to clarify for everyone that Rae and I have removed ourselves from FFXI - but that won't stop me from helpin' ya'll on CoP if you need it from the forums. I'll be cheerin' you all on and you had better all get sea !!

Also I'll switch the first page's image to yours whenever you update, for ease. If you keep the file name the same, you can basically update the front page by just editing yer post =D Thanks for putting in the effort, Koeh.

[snapback]11636[/snapback] Alright, so despite the horribleness of me, we were actually pretty close to wining the battle. Therefore i suggest we try it again next tuesday. Hopefully without the 2h search for a DD, so we can attempt it twice should we fail. I may or may not make a desperate attempt to level whm to 40, but dont count on it, im trying to spend my time in useful persuits. Just a note, there is a Lightsday on Tuesday, Sept 19th @ 9:33pm to 10:31pm Eastern. Thats 7:33pm to 8:31pm Mountain (rian tendy deac), and 6:33pm to 7:31pm Pacific (rosh) I suggest we do it then. Cause that makes sense. By do it then, i mean those who cant be there early logout in Pso'Xja the night before with everything ready, and those that need to travel there get a half-hour head start. Cause if we dick around too much we're hitting him on darksday. Or rather, we're waiting for darksday to pass cause we're not stupid, and so we'll only have time for one go at it. |

what went wrong? [snapback]11639[/snapback] ummmm... 1) I accidentally started casting curaga on the rng next to me instead of the group of melees cause i hit F3 instead of F4 and didnt notice. That wasted a whole 7 seconds there. 2) I didnt notice that the bio thing he shot on me was doing like 12 dmg per tick or something, and i was continually getting smashed by aoe, and I was the first to die. And being the healer, that kinda screws over the rest of the party. 3) I didnt use chainspell/convert when i should have, cause again didnt notice my hp. I noticed it when i was caught in a Curaga on the melees. ::Chainspell:: --> Stoneskin <me> --> Curaga --> Cure III <me> --> ::Convert:: --> Cure II <me> --> Cure III (ranger) --> Curaga --> Curaga --> Stoneskin <me> --> Curaga --> Curaga and we'd have lived though the battle. Both KillingIfrit and Alla suggest this pattern for mages (#) and melee ($): xx#xx oxxoo xxxxx xoxxx xx$$x I dunno if that would avoid the aoe or not. But just thought i'd mention it. EDIT: also mentioning, he spammed AOE constantly, so everyone was permanently in yellow or red. Which was annoying and horribly distracting. Esp when its the paladin in red. |

my strategy for it when i led the CoP static was basically keeping Diabolos and the mages on the opposite corners...it worked quite well...ur setup is really good...the old CoP static went thru it with worse setup and everyone got thru...
so...ideally..

This way..ur mages should not get hit by AoE..and the fight becomes quite easy...u need to check which tiles will fall and which dont...u can do that by carefully studying the tiles before u drop down to the arena...and the ones that will fall would have a dark edge around it...so ideally ur mages (M) should stand there...but if i remember right that tile might fall...so u can stand one tile to the left...that one i remember will never fall..
as a rdm u shouldn't need to chainspell, at least i don't recall needing it unless someone goes wrong from what was planned...tho...u need to dispel quickly...but for ur last member u really want another mage...blm or smn...or ur blu should /whm and just stand out of AoE range and cure if u hv a DD for ur last member...because u need someone on guard to simply curaga and erase...a rdm at that lvl simply don't have enough mana to curaga + erase...and cure...and debuf...etc...even with convert...unlike many of the CoP fights...the main thing about this fight is not to kill him very quickly...but to be careful, take it slowly be stay alive...
