Is it just me, or does the LS seem to be kinda thin lately?
Mabey I'm just getting on at the wrong times, mabey it's just a temp phase where RL is getting in the way, but it seems to me that that there aren't as many members on as I remember there being.
I think we've got to know most of the last batch of new people. Mabey it's time to reinstate recruitment to get some new blood?

hmmm... sure, might be a good time to do it too. I see all sorts of new people in the newb areas. Most are poor souls desperately in need of some sort of guidance. Like the poor blm I saw yesterday with +str rings on..... I felt so sorry for him I gave him like 40k on the spot and asked him to kindly go buy some int rings and a few other items lol.

I agree that the LS doesn't have like 20+ people like it did for a short while some time ago, but I'm believing that you're just getting on at the wrong times =/ I usually get on on weekdays ~4-10PM EST or so and the LS is fairly populated at ~10-15 people or so. It might just be me observing things, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you (mainly) get on at around 8PM EST for your static. I think a few people might log by then. I'm not sure.
In terms of RL things, keep in mind that a lot schools and classes are coming to and end, so finals are becoming a heavy reality for some. I myself just crash at home by going to sleep after all the reviewing I have to do, which explains why I haven't been on much as of late =/ Maybe the situation isn't too far off for others, too.
My vote? Just give it a bit of time.

Ya, in the few times i've been logging in, theres barely been anyone on... tho that says it there, I havent been on very much lately... the whole internet being down for 5 days thing, and me working on my portfolio for art school is kinda screwing with my enjoying life. But if we do institute a case-by-case basis for members joining (doesn't hafta be willy-nilly), I have one (maybe two) ppl who would like to join... one is a galka 61 mnk, the other (idk if she'd join) is a mithra 75 rdm and 61 smn, tho she generally only comes on to play smn in my static, but shes a good team player and i'm sure would help in dynamis or whatever you high-level ppl do if you asked her.

I'm normally on from 8~11ish. I would say that there are infact people on, but it's varied; Either 10~15 people or 5-ish people. I've been noticing more people getting on later (say around 9:30~10pm est).

I know the cause...it's because I haven't been on. I believe most have lost the will to live without Jest, please forgive me. I shall return one day...once I beat half the games I've purchased but never played....that'd be...13...I've beaten 1...No worries, keep on going without me. I know I know, you all miss my hilarious jabber, but I'm sure you can entertain yourself in some other ways. /sigh who am I kidding? No one knows I'm missing!

yeah, i'm on most of the time, and the linkshell is usually deserted most mornings, granted the ones that are still in the linkshell are usually afk and just logged in, or busy doing something and not paying much attention to it. I'm going to say we wait until schools are out, just to be sure of how many people we actually have that are indeed active members of the shell. just my two cents, but I'll leave it at that.

I have kinda discussed with Omni about reopening for recruiting...Tho I think the situation isnt' all that bad about losing members...what I've been noticing is ppl have been coming on at very diff times...we always hv different ppl on at different times (other than a few that's on ALL THE TIME lol)...u don't often see a ls with like 6-7 ppl on at 3-4am in the morning..besides...keep in mind that this is end-of-term period for some ppl at school..exams...finals..projects..etc...so it should get better in the summer...lastly...more ppl in the ls have reached high enough lvls to do more end game stuff...which of course is perfectly fine..they are still faithful members of NB  ....just that sometimes they might be absent from NB cos of dynamis/hnm etc...(believe it or not...sometimes I actually do /sea to see who's online but not in ls LOL...) However the pause in recruiting earlier has created some other issues...so Omni agreed to re-open the invites...but I suggest to do it slowly...so don't give out 5 pearls a day..we'll run into too many unfamiliar faces Also, other than rl friends and families, I suggest to keep the new members relatively high lvl, or experienced, so some other old members won't be annoyed by newbie questions...just a suggestion.. |
