It is apparent to me that everyone in the LS has been anticipating the "offcial" conversion of neobahumut to a HNM LS. We're not there yet, but I'm constantly observing and thinking of ways that will advance the linkshell in the best way possible.
First I will present the problems we face, and my ideas (if I have any at all) on how to avoid the problem alltogether.
First problem is maintaining the sense of a family and community. While it will never be the same as it was when we had >10 members, but we've managed to keep it rather homely despite the larger population.
As a HNMLS we'd get many more players, and again putting that family feel at risk. One possible solution is make a seperate LS for all HNM activities. That may also mean that not everyone in the HNM side of the LS would be in NB. That might not be what everyone wants though, so thats up in the air.
We could also just go on hunts with another HNM LS (Heliotropolis is the HNMLS I tag along with now, and it would be much in the same fasion how I just pop in for HNMs). This may be more of a temp solution than permanent, and the other LS would have to agree to the idea.
Another possibility would be to just go as a LS, without changes. Much like with Roc, we showed up before ToD, anyone welcome, and we beat it to a pulp. Of course the only restriction is that you're responsible for your own life^^. This would help prevent members from feeling left out. Of course the LS might get crowded this way, and we don't have tanks! ><
Second is personal. Its rather time consuming and mind draining to keep track of all the little antics going on in the LS, and plan well enough ahead so that (almost) everyone is happy.
I need everyone with and without linksacks to keep tabs on everyone else, and report to myself, or a linksack holder any problems or concerns. I hate seeing fights in the LS between members over things that could have been avoided with a little bit of talking to clear things up. Immaturity and Begging will not be tolerated.
If the LS decides to make a second shell, it can be very difficult (depending on how we decide to arrange things) to keep things moderated. This means that someone else either would have to take charge of certain activites, or run another LS altogether. I will try to be unbiased in making such a choice if needed (sorry tenka
*), so that NB can keep the reputation it has earned.
Another thing is the rate we sometimes allow players into the LS. I have considered making stricter rules about inviting members, but I have maintained the rule that good friends and family are welcome, only under the condition that they act mature.
A new rule may look like this:
Member Criteria: Level 50, Rank 5
Each linksack holder may invite unlimited members above the criteria, 2 members below.
Each pearl holder may invite 2 friends/family. Any of those members they invite may invite one person into the LS if they meet all other criteria. They may not invite anyone into the LS until they meet the criteria (if they are under). Then they are allowed 2 invites.
Of course, as with all our rules it seems, exceptions can be and will be made. I've never been too strict about rules ><
I'll recheck members soon for pearlsack rights, so keep an eye on your pearl O_o
