The end-game scope of the LS is growing, and I want to encourage that attitude among our members. Of course, if things don't work out, then I'll have to pass leader, and go my own way. But as it stands, the linkshell doesn't want me to leave. So, assuming I stay, I want to make changes in the linkshell.
If you have some high(er) level friends, please keep in touch with them, and see if you can get them interested in a pearl to NB. This also means keeping the invitations of lower level players restricted. It's a nice feeling to help them out, and they may end up good friends, but that will only hinder these goals.
I don't want to set hardcore rules or anything, just want our members walking with thier heads on straight. In the past month, I have been amazed by the amount of progress we have made in the Linkshell. We have pulled off more events than I can keep track of. It's going to get boring, and it's going to suck, but keep at it, and get everyone to level 60!
We have so much going for us right now, and it's going to be harder than ever to keep it up. We've one of the oldest LSs known on our server. I am proud of every members skill, and I have no doubt of your abilitys. We've got some of the best players on the server, and some great contacts, and a huge reputation to boot.
Older members can relate to some point in thier career where they have gotten a /tell of "omg you're in the LS?" or "I wish I was in that LS" or "wow, that LS is still around?" Lets live up to our name!
EDIT: I will also be adding everyone to my FFXI friendlist

Sounds good to me Omni, I'm looking forward to being around and helping out, this month is going to be a real pain in the ass for me though. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to play for, ( if any >.<; ), but I'll do what I can.
Mom's still giving me a hard as hell time with all of my gaming, but I'm hoping she'll lighten up once i turn 18 and in charge of myself. Only time will tell.
I have a few higher level friends, I'll keep NB in mind whenever they're around, I want to see it prosper just as much as you do.
Oh! One more thing. I'm going to hang up Ninja for a while and try to concentrate on leveling Warrior, I've got to get there sometime >.<.

I hope things get better for you >.< As for the changes in the LS, I welcome the idea fully  It sounds like a lot of fun...now if I could just get red mage to 60 >< (Going to Boone next weekend for Odyssey of the Mind State competition). Oh, and just to flatter the LS a bit, a while back when we were *almost* on the brink of breaking (/stare <Riven>...), I had this short /tell spree with someone in my party. Just points to wonder about, and maybe someone who is actually in an HNMLS can answer:
About how many people (total, average, and peak) need to be in the LS for it to work?
What kind of hours are needed to be at least semi-succesful? (Like, how often do you need to be on and playing?)
Also, I really really want to just add that, if we DO become an end-game-type LS, I hope that there will be no drama like I know there has been in the other LS. We've known each other for some tim eand we all get along very well. I'd hate to see that broken up by greed or whatever. Maybe we will just be like a laid back alternative or something. Maybe just go do stuff on weekends or whatever.

I'm down for the changes, as well. I wanted to get into an end-game related LS as I reached closer and closer to 60 (I'm getting there.. it's just taking longer than I had hoped ><).
As for the hours, I need to find that out, too. Since I'm out of work at the moment, I'll be around a bit more, but once I find a new job, who knows. A lot of us are usually busy with real life stuff, so knowing what we have to do and being there for each other when it's needed will be important.

anyways yah this pearl is still around and kicking and even tho there is slow times, its always been an LS of small friends. Making it a home-like feel. deffinetly i like spending time here rather then in a big HNMLS any day

[snapback]3986[/snapback] Heh, you seem to have a warped perspective of this LS. The nice part about this friends type of LS is there are no set answers to those questions. People can log whenever they want for however long they want, and still be qualified members. But like anything else, there is an element of balance, there needs to be enough people, but there cant be too many. In my oppinion the LS tends to be the most fun when there are 10-12 people (experienced players) on at any given time, but thats just me. |

Yeah that works for *our* type of linkshell, but I was talking about an actual hnmls, and what they need to be succesful. But upon further reflection, I think that we need to make our own sort of definition of success. For example, others might think that getting several hnm kills per week would equal success, but for us it might be something as small as just getting one or two, and just hanging out or whatever.
I dunno... just more stuff to ponder.

I see lots of new HNMLS popping up and idk if i really care because i dont like tanking shit that can pound me into the ground. The only reason i leveled PLD in the first place was because the only weapon i had skilled was sword/shield rofl <.<

I wanted to start with the really small guys, and make a name. Yes I've noticed a lot of new HNMLS too, newest big one seems to be Revalation. But only so many will survive, rest will be torn up by greed, I'm gussing.
We can start with Behemoth(assuming we can get claim), Serket, Roc, Simurg, Guivure, etc... we'd keep an eye on ToD, and I should be able to call everyone out whenever something is about to pop.

OMFG omni... I remember hearing about this neobahumut be4 i joined all those months ago. There were some pretty tight entrance requirements then... First off the first thing is that everyone had to be rank 5 at least. Second was that they all needed to be lvl 50+. And third they HAD to have a sense of humor. I remember talking to Omni on the PS forums (which now btw i can't get on anymore for some reason no clue why...) and I think I was one of the first that got into the LS w/o meeting ALL of the criteria. I was lvl 45 at the time. And I guess since Omni and me had the same views (for the most part) on the PS forums and we became cool he gave me a pearl. I was rank 5 at the time and was joking around with either rosh or niko when i first got in... lol those were the days... But seriously if NB could turn into a HNMLS it would be great. This LS has quite possibly one of THE longest times around (I mean c'mon TheSpecialists rose and fell 'I loved the LS /cry' and that LS was around for a LONG time and NB is still here) and has a pretty high reputation (well it was more famous before when it was an exclusive LS). I hope that if and WHEN we do turn this into a HNMLS Coreno would come back. After he left the shell didn't dry up, but you could feel the difference you know? Also I might have a couple high lvls that would be interested in NB as a HNMLS. Corvinus (75 RNG) has a NB pearl (courtesy of urs truly ^^) and drops in occasionally but then has to go back to Prophecy cuz its his HNMLS. Valan (70 PLD) is in a few of my LSs (TheStormingForce, PharosKnights) and might be interested in joining NB if it became a HNMLS. With our reputation it wouldn't be hard attracting high lvl NA players to our shell. And eventually when our ranks swell and we officially PWN Seraph i think alot of JP players will follow suit. The only thing i need help with for now is my AF 3. I have Valan helping with tanking topaz quadavs for my blood, but i might need another 60+ DD to help kill the quad. Then I'll need major help with the actual NM fight for my Chaos Burgeonet. Omni IF you don't mind I'd like to creat a guide to the DRK job including ability/magic list, and also a guide on DRK AF1-6. When I get the Chaos Burgeonet I'll also submit a pic of me in complete DRK AF for the site. Also if this HNMLS thing is gonna work we're gonna hafta act like an HNMLS. If we're in a exp PT for some other job and some1 says that a HNM is gonna spawn we HAVE to say sorry and disband to help each other out. Another thing is that NOBODY can be selfish. Not at all. If someone gets a piece of, let's say relic gear that you wanted don't flame him, we're family, congratulate him/her and hope for the next piece. And if there's a problem between yourself and some1 else don't keep it to urself that's a sure-fire way to ruin the HNMLS experience, instead talk about it with an impartial person and sort it out. Omni in this HNMLS I don't want you taking any bullshit bro. If some1 is ruining it for us all that person has to go for the sake of the LS. I don't think that'll be a problem for the core of guys/gals we have now, but for down the road. Well I think I've wrote enuff  so if you guys wanna further talk about this keep posting and I'll keep reading. |

I got an unfair atvantage to get in since I know Core IRL lv. 1 rank 1 But I don't think it was a bad idea to break the rules that one time. ^^ Still, I am starting to agree that setting some restrictions for invites in place is in the best interest of the LS. |
