Hey everyone! I quit FFXI a while back, but I have become re-interested in the game. Are the servers still largely populated as they used to be? Are there even more than there used to be? Also, are there more english speaking players on? Thanks for your replies

Yes Yes and Yes. You will find more english speaking players on the newer servers like Hades, however you will also find less vets, or even remotely compatent players there.

Well, depending on how long ago since you last quit, there has been a lot of changes, and a lot more players playing overall. On most servers you'll find many NAs with at least one job at 75, some with even more than one.

actually your a bit backwards there Pierce.

Hades/remora are almost 77% HNMLs's now. Highly considered the Veteran Servers.

why 77%? because there was a POL graph on server based pop. on somepage. Now..if i can find that god damn link.

Wow, thats weird. Hades is one of the newest servers so I would expect it to be lower then older servers.

newer players really wouldnt have a tendacy to switch to a new server. Really its the veterans who knew what was wrong with out server, and dealt with it for many months, year(s). Fed up fleeing to another server for a chance at their own LS, and mabye HNMLS.

Yeah Niko is right. There *are* alotta new players (I think it's a European-ish server) but they are crammed full of high-level-HNMLS-ers who ditched their old ones to perhaps find less competition or whatever. Which would explain the wonky economy..
Of course, they are also havens for players who gained bad reps on old servers and wanted to start with a clean slate.
