ok so i log off early last night to get some HW done on the comp, that i didnt get a chance to at the Fafnir camp. so im typing away, and my computer decides its time to turn off, and turn back on flipping off all memory of my labored paper.(i wont even mention how many pages it was..but lets just say nearly everything was numerics, quotes, and other things i labored over to PULL individually out of over 20 text books I used a lot of sources on.) Before going insane i thought i should get some sleep and just re-REsearch it tomorrow in my doc. lab at school.
today i arrive in class. In by far our schools highest tech lab available. elite by far. Now every single computer is top of the notch. Nothing held back. (real peice of ass in the comp. world) i reREsearch all my theories and retype it all up. i slide in my disk to save.... just then realizing that the tech. didnt format the A-drive, so it was just a flashy button at this point. (I.E i have no way to save..) So i figure oh well, i just need to print it and hand it in anyways, he'll hand it back. So i hit print, and it gives me this new crap they decided to use yesterday called a Print station i.d (use your id to make sure your info is released only by you.) So i do it. i hit print, make an I.D and hurry over to the printer.
Nothing happens.
I see this box that says "Please enter I.D and followed by hitting ok"
I follow the directions.
I then get a quite utterly loud screaming noise from the machine saying "Improper funds"
(everyone stares at me..and people from the 5th story section all watch me from above)
i slide over to the counter and ask what happened. The lady takes my I.D, slides it into the machine, then points at this other machine that requires i pay 1.00 for a service charge to use the printer. Then 10cents to perform the print out.
. . ok 100% broke other then my ATM card, last time i checked. they dont give 10cent pieces...
SO i sit here. All my information on the computer. No way to move it to another computer. Beautifully designed, and worked out. (hard i might add) Then i hit the Close button, walked away. Basically i just accepted an F in my class for this project.
*all the computers in the Labs A drive didnt work. (there was no signs or anything*
*it wouldn't have mattered if i had saved, i couldnt move information to another computer anyways, all the A drives were not functioning.*
*I should have kept 10 cents on me...or at least a dollar*
*im freaking out hardcore, cause my professor is now very frustrated at me, because i was to present my project in front of a commitee of 7 for our Civilization presentation. *
(I.E i was the lead of the class on the project - -) Which doesn't only mean i fail, but 27 other now, frustrated students in my class.)
I'm going to go cry now...

omfg... that's fucked up... why would any idiot teacher have an entire class riding on one student... that's just way too much stress... and wtf is there a computer lab with no gd a drives...

 that's really messed up soemtimes it's frustrating how universities and colleges always try to get every single penny they could out of their students.. despite that they charge a fortune for books and tuitions already.. and guess what i got a call awhile ago from my faculty SAC or something like that asking us the students to DONATE money for renovating our atrium.. i was like..uh...u guys are rich..  |

Yo. call yourself a computer geek? E-mail it to yourself! Or go to MS-DOS prompt and type "format A:" to manually format the disk then save it.  |

heh.. none of my pc's have an A drive, except for the laptop and my now ancient dell that I bought 4 years ago.
That's why they invented CD burners and blank CD's are cheaper than floppies now.
Oh.. and Niko.. to help with your situation, get a portable usb key drive. Plug it in, it acts like a harddrive in windows explorer, so you can just drag and drop. Most mp3 players and digital cameras will do this, too.

Chances are, since it is a school, Word... you have to turn that on, cause most places turn it off... it's always been a broken feature.

Keyword (Last chance on this assigment) so it wouldnt have mattered if i emailed it to myself. I was going in to reprint it off. But find this whack ass system....o well. im to pissed now
