anyone got details/strategies on it? im thinking of trying it if anyone's interested. Rumor has it scorpion quivers dropped, great for me... saves me LOTS of cash (unless roshi gets off his ass and starts making me scorp arrowheads ..hehe)

ooo..bcnm 30, Gun Belt...wouldnt mind that i guess..
btw Balga's Dias bcnm 30 also has erase... since we have lotsa whm who need it soon might be a good one to figure out... mob is Bitoso, crawler.. special attack is paralyga, cure III, and cocoon.
seems like there's only one mob... anyone wanna try it? i figure a pld or nin tank, taru blm/whm, and rng(me!) would be best bet..?

Naturally, WARs contrary to popular belief can actually tank and are good damage dealers. Besides I have no intention as of the moment to go Paladin (Lucent is chock full of em).

WARs can tank, but they cant heal themselves. at lvl 30 wars dont do much more dmg than pld in what i've seen, and paladins on the other hand take way less dmg per hit AND can cure themselves. the idea behind a pld is it eases up on the mage, so WAY more time to complete the battle, and besides, they're not meant to be the damage dealer... thats what im there for <3 rng on the other hand dray, u are a galka...gives u edge for tankage... |

What kind of crappy WARs and what kind of weapons have they been using that you've partied with? I'm tied if not more with every other melee class (DRKs+) that I've partied with at my level. Great Axe and Sturmwind is fun, I've done up to 400 dmg on Goblins in Yhoator using them =\ WARs are also meant to be damage dealers, dont forgot about us just because everyone rushes off for an adv job |

war's are homos. accept it. and granted, they do good damage, but not above and beyond pld dmg at that level. i just hit 30 with my rng, sittin in pt with galka war usin great axe, galka war usin some little pick axe thingie (looked like a hammer the size of his finger) and a pld using a sword... pld swung just short of twice as fast as the GA, and hit for bout 50% of the GA hit, but hit more often (dont know if thats due to lack of skill on the GA galka's part or what tho)... so it was pretty even in the end. but again, pld with shield, war without, pld with mp, war without, pld hetero, war homo, etc, etc, etc.

Pickaxes arnt great axes, those are axes. Axes unless your doing dual wield with a nin in my opinion suck. Great axes are quite strong, and considering I tie or beat EVERY other melee job I've fought with I'm quite happy with it. Wars are also good at doing DMG...
Quish, any job can suck if a crappy player plays it or uses bad equip or the ilk, hell I've seen RNGs that made me cry as they couldnt even hit the mob, and I've gotten TP much faster then any NIN, THF, MNK I've partied with in Khazam. =\

No offence Dray, but here is the truth:
I never looked for Wars for PTs past level 40, simply because Pld or Nin did a better job. Usually, there was one available, and there were so few Wars at any given time, that I never bothered to look.
That and, I find that a Warriors skills are more adaptable as a sub-job, rather than a main.

dray..heh... NEVER make your point by comparing YOURSELF to other WARs in kazham...please, i hate to see you put yourself down to that level... and i was sayin i had 2 galka wars, one with GA and one with axe. so GA taken into account. but to counter what omni's said, i have seen wars in higher levels that do DAMN good damage with a GA (i know i always liked Graive in pt cuz he knew how to use his abils to do max dmg, but the poor bastard rarely ever got pt's as a war  ) ... and there was one JP who did war/whm when we couldnt find a pld or nin and he took a little more dmg but held aggro amazingly well. i was quite impressed. but again, as omni said, war skills are more adaptable as sub-job unless you count war cry or something of the like.. but back to main point: we dont want dmg dealer in this case, we want a tank. dmg on pld > dmg on war, plus pld = mp = self-heals = less stress on mage mp = longer battle possible.... but i'll accept your n00b ass for BCNM cuz i know u wont fuck up on me ...i thought bout it and i figure with some good drinks and such goin it should still be easy as pie...and a pld cant keep hate off me anyways in my experience, so maybe a dmg dealer that can attempt a voke is all i need. on a seperate note, i got an offer from Blakdeath (drk) who wants to do this with me.... he has a mage friend who's in on it (i HOPE whm at least)... what's everyone think of drk, whm, rng doin this? again, im startin to think i'll end up tanking it anyways ... by the time i throw in a barrage its game over for aggro. |
