BCNM 40

Hey whats up everyone? I am nearing 40 and I am looking for information on BCNM 40. These beastmen selas are burning a hole in my mog house. Please list some of your stories and knowledge on the subject.

I've had the fortune (or misfortune) of doing one set of BCNM40, which ended up being 5 rounds with the same party. My record for that night is 3 for 5... and that was the only BCNMs I've ever done, because S-E hates dragoons.... ("Dont hate the player, hate the game" -unknown)

ANYWAY... my party was pretty close to perfect, so we did quite well.
Drg, Rng, Brd, Blm, Whm, <-- some other mage... can't even remember =\

I was tanking (as drg, oddly enough) and faired rather well, all things considered. Here is the general battel stratagy:

Bard goes into actual fighting area first, getting all aggro, and sleeping the mobs. The tank picks a target (usually the black mandy first) and the rest of the party follows suit. The bard can TRY to heal the mages MP, but if that is not possible, then they have to stratigically rest. The bard rests the mandys whenever they wake up, and the mages have to be sure that the bard stays alive above all. Even if the tank dies (this will usually happen if the black mandy gets to use Flood for about 900-1000 dmg), he can be raised and contiune fighting (happend to me, but I dont reccomend letting anyone die). After the black mandy is killed, its pretty easy going from there. Tank picks next target. The Whm should NEVER use Bene, for any reason.

My 2 losses at the BCNM were caused by the ranger getting disconnected (the main DD) and then another the whm used Bene.

additional info:

BCNM is done by going to port jeuno, theres a guy on the main runway (hidin a bit off to the side, bout midway down tho, easy enough to find) that u can trade ur seals to to get ORBs. BCNM lvl is dependent on orb u get (40 seals = lvl 40 bcnm orb, 50 seals lvl 50 orb, etc).  the orb u get is usable in Giddeus BC, Palborough BC, and Yughott BC.  i think they're also usable in fei'yin and such but i dont know if u can use just any orb or u have to use 50s or 60s or some shit.   there's details bout all that shit on mysterytour and allakhazam and such.

anyways, like i said omni was talking about GIDDEUS bcnm 40 which is well known for being one of the easier ones, not to say that its easy.  if you go to palborough dont expect to see mandragoras.

as for party structure, ideally you want a good tank (nin is great with utsusemi: ni) to tank the fights.  you want a bard ideally to sleep the mobs, as sleepga takes lots of mp.  you want a whm naturally to heal, and another mage (blm or rdm is fine even) that can backup heal and possibly nuke.  best way i've seen is backup healer heals the bard, while whm heals the tank and assists healing bard when needed.  other than those people, u want damage dealers.  rangers seem to be best at that level if u ask me.

anyways, i suggest if u go for BCNM that u get at least 3 or 4 orbs together.  they're rare/ex so u have to have 3/4 people trad 40 seals each to get them.  the reason i suggest this is because its hard to get a good full bcnm party organized and when u do u wanna make the most out of it.  

if u succeed with the bcnm, you get a bunch of items, if lucky they'll be worth up to 400k or so, if unlucky they'll be worth like 30k total.  hence the doin it 3 or 4 times.  general rule of thumb for these things is one person (usually the one whose seals were just used) takes all the items and sells them, then splits up the profits and sends out to everyone that participated.

as for levels, i highly suggest you take ONLY people lvl 40 (or higher) for the 40bcnm.  you want everyone at their peak.  also make sure ur buffed to shit on foods, and bring juices and such.  its worth investing a few thousand in those things for each fight, you'll get at least that back at the end if u succeed.

Bringing this post back alive instead of startin new one, cuz its same topic... my static pt just hit 39 lastnite, goin for 40 tonite... for the next 2 days after we're gonna be doin AF weapons & BCNM 40s... we figure maybe 3 or 4 BCNMs for now, not quite sure yet (i have damn near 300 seals myself alone, so i got some to spare, but i wanna save some for BCNM60)...

anyways, point of this post is that my static has the following:
me (hume rng)
Soulhunter (hume rng)
Nikopiko (taru whm)
Natcormar (galka pld)
Zeroth (galka mnk)

...now from there we usually take on a 6th depending on whats available... the ones we usually take on are:
Duolc (rdm)
Ceythe (rng, fallin behind in levels tho)
Celesta (rdm)
Kalmaric (blm)
and lastnite we had Aroex (whm) .... all of em enjoyed our pt (due to good dmg, good tanking, all good players, etc)... so they all voiced that they'd like to rejoin.. but nobody's really cemented in as such for that position.

however, for BCNM'n we need a little sleepga action... meaning a bard most likely... looking for any possible volunteers for this.  I figured Coreno would be in (i know ur always lookin for some quick & easy cash) and maybe Kellen (the bcnm whore as of late) so if you're interested, post here or send me a tell, and i'll tell ya when we're headin out so u can join in

break = over.  theref & runnshoot helped with that (ps check my equip now, i fucking pwn)... only 4 more items i want at my lvl (well 5, but last isnt really that big a deal and its hard to find.. checked all 4 ah's and no luck ) .. Emperor's Hairpin.. Peacock Charm.. Hawker's Knife+1, and Nomad's Mantle+1 ... all starting at 300k or so, and i figure they can wait.. i plan on having all those except the hairpin for end-game, so i'll take my time buyin em ...and in the next 15 levels i only really need one item (my lvl 50 bow) .. only other piece i want is brigandine+1, which i think i'll skip over anyways.. again a few hundred thousand, but i wont need it at 56 so i dont think i'll bother...

and nikopiko = teh pwn so stfu

and if u got seals i'll bcnm with ya too dray  just put together a pt, u got one rng on the payroll sir.  if u want anyone else from my group (or even outside it) i'm sure i can muster em up.  i figure stickin to ppl bout my lvl is best cuz that way they'll already be equipped for the bcnm, wont need to invest just for one evening of pwnage.

plan is for this saturday afternoon... groups goin in with rng, rng, whm, pld, and the galka mnk is usin his drk instead... so all we need is u to come down core and we're set ^^ ... btw, only me and the drk have done bcnm's before, the other rng, the pld and the whm havent (at least not bcnm 40s, i think a couple of em have done 20s and 30s)... so might go a bit rough for first one, but should be more than fine if u ask me (based on my experiences with the group) ... we generally dont even break a sweat when we get links or adds on IT++ fights, and nobody pulls n00b moves.

which is an oddity i think

and quish was tanking  
i was tricking off drk (Zeroth)

that went pretty well too i think...though i dunno how it usually goes
killed those mandras twice both were successful
3rd one everyone died in 2 secs, o well,
got 100k i hv no complains

The third one was a fluke... mandy at one end slept mages and bard, mandy at other end slept us.... and it was like 3am or later for everyone so it was like "zzz...huh? mommy? zzz ....mandra ...sleep...zzzz.. OH SHIT *death*" ... anyways up until that one the setup we were usin was uber successful (like 14/15 now or somethin like that)

Here's the setup:
Bard (to sleep em, duh)
Red mage to heal bard (whm can be used, but no convert/refresh)
Red mage to heal melees (whm again can be used)
Dark Knight (to cast stun, CAN be replaced with blm that can elemental seal silence)
Damage dealer (preferrably ranger)
Damage dealer (again, preferrably ranger)


....and yeah, agreed with tenka, thf isnt totally useless. just like 99% useless..u know... jk tenks. only reason people don't like thf's in is because they're replacing a damage dealer... which has 2 downsides: first off its not a normal party setup, so if you do a BCNM with an actual tank trying to hold damage a thf just screws that all to shit with a 500 dmg weapon skill.. second: thf is pansy. thats why i ended up tanking
