Sup Lev,

You will need to redo all your settings and macros. Kind of a pain in the ass but its no big deal.

Acutally, I remember seeing something in POL that'll let you save your macros in POL so you can pull them up elsewhere or something like that. Look around the help whatever

Yeah I would say now would be the best time to do it. Cause the expanstion will have the most recent update and you won't have to deal with that pain in the ass update you did when you first got the game. I had to sit through that bastard twice! Man I hated that!

well, i guess it wouldn't be that bad a thing for me to redo the macros. would it just screw up macros, or all my settings (chat color, controls, hardware settings)?

In all honesty, the newest nVidia cards (the 6000 series) are the best on the market right now.

ditto ive been hearing recent complaints from friends there rad's have been heating up pretty bad an causing shut downs. :\ but those are just scim off the top of the total pool of people with that graphics card. they both have 9800's, there fantastic graphics cards, but i personally also think they heat up to quickly (quickly being played 4-5 hours.

x800 XT holds the highest 3dm2003 ratings (not that 3dm2003 is used for determining superior game graphics quality...just a nice tad of info to be aware of...lots of variables when running 3dm2003, though)

The overall standing in most reviews is that the cards are almost equal in quality...with the 6800 Ultra taking a small edge over the x800 XT.  The x800 XT draws much less power, generates little heat (in comparison to the 6800 Ultra), and it takes up one pci slot.  The 6800 Ultra takes up two pci slots i believe because of the super-tank of a heatsink

Keep in mind...you need a system that can keep up with these cards.

What games do you play/plan on playing? That'll help a lot if you need a good reference.

If you don't plan on playing HL2, Halo 2, Doom 3, etc. religiously, stick with a lower end 256mb vid card.  That'll keep you up to date for a few years at least. To run Anti-aliasing at or above 4x requires a lot of video memory, and AA makes a huge difference when you want the upmost in potential graphics display (hence the 256mb recommendation).

But yea...tell me what games you will be playing.
