Whether its the repetitive environment, or how crafting the lowest level recipes requires high-level materials, or the the market system... what would you like to see fixed first?

The market will be updated next week, so it says, into categories so to make search for things easier.. I am looking forward to that..
I don't find the environment too repetitive because I travel between Gridania and LL alot.. and I am sure they'll open more areas and dungeons soon.
One thing that gets in my way of crafting is a recipe that calls for a part that is dyed, i.e. beige sheep leather strap.. as the strap is easy to find/make.. the colored ones are rare because dyes are not easy to make and materials for them are hard to find.. that's my only complaint with crafting.. otherwise I actually like crafting alot..
I don't like the interface tho.. almost everything I do I have to go through a series of 5-6 buttons/windows.. be it selling stuff on bazaar, crafting, talking to retainer. Inventory is super messy.. I think that is definitely the next thing they have to work on.
I also don't like how you pretty much have to stand right beside someone AND standing still to interact with him - invite to party, send linkshell, and most annoying of all, buying stuff from bazaar. If someone is running and u see something in his bazaar u like.. forget it, unless you quickly remember his name and send him a tell.. you won't be able to buy it cos you are forced to stand still and he is running away..
Now - what I like is, you can solo as much as you want. The leves give you good money and exp.. and if you take on a main class and a crafting and a land class.. you'll quickly find yourself running out of room for all the possible leves you can do.. of course progress is slower.. but that keeps things interesting.. I do find some of the higher level leves now are harder to solo.. which would bring in the party element..
I am dying for all the ppl in NB to join the game and be online at the same time lol.. because we can coordinate our crafting and really work together as a ls.. I think that will bring alot of fun into this game.
I still see alot of potential in this game.. there are alot of diff elements.. they are just not piece together too well

And SE just posted on the Lodestone of an "issue" they've identified and are working on. What is this issue that they feel compelled to bring to our attention and start working on? Crystals. 999 Crystals. If you go over that, the crystals apparently just get toss. A problem indeed, but I'd have that on a priority somewhere after letting my sort my inventory, but before fixing the chat box bug thats already been fixed.

I would definitely approve of the ability to sort my inventory.
Targetting is still a little wonky, but it was similarly in ffxi, probably just not used the the tab spamming like I used to be after 3-ish years of WoW.
Crafting still takes forever, but I'm still attributing that to my slow ass laptop. (Hopefully have a new desktop before the end of the year, preferably before next month.
Some sort of way to differentiate aggro mobs from non-aggro mobs would also be nice.
Some kind of marker as to who starts new quests, or at least a notification through an NPC linkshell or something.
I'm sure there's more, but I've only been playing an hour or two a day thus far.

Oh god I raged so hard last night. Started a Leve in La Nosca. It was on an island I have never been to before. Though I had to go through an area marked on the map as some sort of Hollow. I wound up entering a new zone and abandoning the Leve. RRRRRRAAAAAAGGEEEEEE

Targeting in FFXI allowed sub-targeting and various other tricks to make sure you were on the right target, including giving priority to targets that had aggroed. Also, I am totally ok with not knowing what aggros. Further, so far only the ONE NPC starts story quests.

FFXI never had markers on what aggro and what didn't.. after a while I guess you could figure out what family of mobs aggro etc.. They do have a npc ls that will flash when there are new updates to an existing quest, but like Omni said so far you have to go back to the same npc to start the different phases of the storyline quest.. although you do go to different npcs during each phase.. I don't think I want to see a specific marker or arrow to identify "click me I am a quest giver".. I don't think SE would ever do that.. I'm guessing that is a WOW thing? (Or in EQ, which I had a chance to play at a friend's house very briefly). They definitely need better targeting system.. /assist worked well in FFXI.. or target party mob... when I did the leve quest with Omni and Bahu I barely touched any of the mobs cos I could hardly target it before it died.. Well I can't wait to see the market update on this Friday.. if it does what it promises I don't mind the market wards replacing AH..

From what little I understand of the crafting aspect, I do have a few things in which I DO like.
I like the fact that you need to actually pay attention while crafting something, keeps me entertained.
I also like the fact that it takes crystals to create the materials to work with from the raw materials, and it takes the shards to use the craftable materials in order to make equipment and so on. That seems very overly thought out at first, but I approve.
The game itself is pretty good, still needs alot of polishing, but from an objective standpoint, barring FFXI, the game is alright.

Ruh Roh... looks like this party is on. Seriously thinkin of pickin this game up when I graduate in December. I have faith that Squenix will have most of these major design issues wrapped up by then. I don't think the reviewers are being fair to this game. It's an MMO, there's always gonna be problems in the beginning, thats why they make patches. Anyway, hope everyone's havin fun so far despite the issues. Hopefully when/if I pick this up there will be a nice little disfunctional family to come hang out with again.

I'm all for the crafting thing, except for one HUGE fucking design flaw.
YOU CAN'T MAKE ANYTHING WITHOUT 2-3 OTHER CRAFTS TO BACK IT UP!
Making a pair of level 9 fist weapons requires parts from carpentry, weaving, blacksmithing, and leatherworking. It's a complete pain in the ass.

I buy parts from ppl whenever I see some available.. if we each take on diff crafts that shouldn't be that difficult I think.. I'm lvling goldsmith weaver and alchemist.. debating if I want to take on Leather too (if someone else can level that it'll be great) I level mining and logging through leves too so if you need any logs or cooking ingredients let me know cos I don't need them.

that synth update really makes me wish my comp could handle ffxiv... the fact that they didn't have <pos> or a lot of that map stuff is a bit scary, but I've done enough pulling that I could have probably got around it.
So who wants to buy me a laptop for an early christmas presant? lol

Ok, this is kinda funny. Every review I read bitches and gripes that you run around not knowing what to do. ..... It was like that in ff11 too, and everyone seemed to make due. I mean, give it a month or two and there will be FAQs and guides all over creation on how to do everything in the inth degree detail and then we all rejoice and the world is whole again. The only real problem I'm seeing that might effff things up good is the user interface. Which, if it's really as messed up as they say would maybe be adjusted in updates? Thoughts anyone? btw I'm totally getting back into this. Idc what the fiancee says anymore lol

The user interface isn't as bad as most people are making it out to be. It just takes a little bit to get used to. Sure, there's quite a few unnecessary menu pathways to get around the thing, and equipping armor is a tad bit confusing, but it's not as bad as it sounds.
