The game feels quite incomplete, which is scary considering how close to release we are. The game does feel a little slow paced, even as a button masher (you do have to hit a button every time you want to attack).

You have a Job Rank, and Character Level. As far as I was able to tell, you do not lose experience when you die (but maybe thats a low-level handicap?).

The 2 mages classes are basically a combined black/white mage, and a red mage, from what I can gather. Soloing as a Conjurer (Black/white mage), is just as easy as soloing as Gladiator (warrior).

Creatures for Levequests are spawned specifically for you, and you're pointed to them on your map... so its an easy way to level, since no one will be taking those monsters.

There is still a lot of walking, though much of it can be replaced by Teleporting (which costs Anima). You can teleport to any of the crystals you've visited, if you have enough Anima. So far, Teleporting has only cost me 2 Anima, and you start with 100. Not sure how it gets replenished, though.

Navigating some menus is very unintuitive, its really asinine at times. Trying to change your weapon is a pain.

I can't figure out any chat commands.

Linkshells are still called linkshells, despite them saying they wouldn't. You can equip up to 8 at once, I think. Linkshells are free. Customization is limited... you create a "Crest" basically, by first choosing a pre-made pattern, and then a small selection of color combination of that pattern. Neon-Green isn't one of the colors Sad

I really do hope they will improve the UI. I'm going to plug in a controller and see if that's better.

If you want to change to Linkshell chat type: /Chatmode Linkshell (this will make Linkshell your default). Party chat: /Chatmode Party (Makes Party chat default).  If you want to switch quickly, /l before anything you write will post your writing in the linkshell.  /p before your writing will post your writing in party chat.

I really hope they will have hot keys for switching weapons... it's such a pain right now.

All in all, I am enjoying the game. I like how leve quests are only 30 mins long at max. So far I have been able to finish most leves in under 15 mins.

Changing jobs is a huge pain in general, because you have to set all your abilities again.

I use the controller and for the most part its easier, I think. But I used the controller all through FFXI

Set macros for each job.. I did that and the change becomes very easy..

Ex: for Thaumagtjepowtjoaut

/equip main "Weathered Scepter"
/equipaction 2 "Banish"
/equipaction 3 "Scourge"

then i change to botanist

/equip main "Weathered Hatchet"
/equipaction 2 "Arbor Call"

the number represents the slot #, make sure you don't choose 1 cos that's the regular melee.. and the guide doesn't tell you to put " " but i found out you do..

Thats kind of silly, but I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Should remember for each weapon.

That being said, this game does remind me a little bit of FFT, as far as jobs and such goes. I would not be surprised that to unlock jobs in the future you had to level other specific jobs to certain levels first.

I'm surprised that the visuals for magic skills are not more glamourous.. like banish is not a big white sphere but just a little blink that's hardly noticeable..

either that or i lag so much that i can't see the graphics lol

I am a little disappointing with the spell fireworks. I don't lag at all. But loading can take a bit sometimes.

OOoooo the macro thing will be so helpful.
