The game feels quite incomplete, which is scary considering how close to release we are. The game does feel a little slow paced, even as a button masher (you do have to hit a button every time you want to attack).
You have a Job Rank, and Character Level. As far as I was able to tell, you do not lose experience when you die (but maybe thats a low-level handicap?).
The 2 mages classes are basically a combined black/white mage, and a red mage, from what I can gather. Soloing as a Conjurer (Black/white mage), is just as easy as soloing as Gladiator (warrior).
Creatures for Levequests are spawned specifically for you, and you're pointed to them on your map... so its an easy way to level, since no one will be taking those monsters.
There is still a lot of walking, though much of it can be replaced by Teleporting (which costs Anima). You can teleport to any of the crystals you've visited, if you have enough Anima. So far, Teleporting has only cost me 2 Anima, and you start with 100. Not sure how it gets replenished, though.
Navigating some menus is very unintuitive, its really asinine at times. Trying to change your weapon is a pain.
I can't figure out any chat commands.
Linkshells are still called linkshells, despite them saying they wouldn't. You can equip up to 8 at once, I think. Linkshells are free. Customization is limited... you create a "Crest" basically, by first choosing a pre-made pattern, and then a small selection of color combination of that pattern. Neon-Green isn't one of the colors
