I just started Kingdom Hearts 2 (a bit of a delay, I know, but seemed like a fine time.) I have a question. What the hell were they smoking when they made this game? The entire card system (both in and out of battles) is completely incomprehensible.

idk but personally i hated the gummy ariship building crap waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more, that thing could drive einstein insane

There's no card system in KH2, but there is in Re: Chain of Memories... maybe that's the one you're playing?  And if so, keep in mind that it was originally made for the gameboy advance, so they had to simplify a lot of stuff, which is where the cards come into play.
