As has happened with our forum before the upgrade, spam bots are getting past our registration system.  I have changed the "CAPTCHA" image several times (from built-in, to custom, to reCAPTCHA). CAPTCHA images are the garbled text images that you have to decipher and put in a text box. I've also recently gotten email working on our forum (neobahumut first!), and enabled email verification, but they were able to get past that as well.

These spam posts make our forum look like shit, and piss me off. I've banned entire ranges of IPs (when originating from a country such as Russia or China), and delete posts and accounts as needed as well.

Please bare with us while we combat these intruders.

If you find yourself mysteriously banned... there could be a few reasons. One, you're using a proxy (bad you!). Two, you have a virus or malware of some sort, and has configured your computer to use a proxy, and your computer is now one of those bots used to spam our forums.

If you have seen any clever anti-bot mechanisms on other forums, please share so we can keep the riff-raff off of our community.

They also spawn most of the products sold in America. I thus conclude that Tenka is lead based.

haven't read any of them but seems a russian bot has gotten in... wonder if russian bots are as attractive and psychopathic haters as russian women?
