Ok, my max elemental magic (using NQ wind staff and not ice day so no Shiva's ring for +10 elem magic) is 328. I still get resisted like, all the time on Kirin. Only consistent nuke I have is Elemental Seal Aeroga III. I get a few lucky ones here and there. I think for the whole 1.5 hours or however long we fought kirin last night, I got unresisted like 7 times on nukes. Question is, does anyone think a HQ wind staff will be better, or should I spring for that Elemental Earring. I know the HQ wind staff is an extra 5% dmg, very nice, but is the extra accuracy rate better than +3 elemental magic? I suppose this is a no brainer, hell, if i had my way i'd get both, but i'll probably bareyly be able to afford just one of them. I just hope that spending that 900k on the Auster's will actually be worth it. Hmm, as a side thought I should spring for AF2 hat..  heh, fat chance of that shit.  |

I don't think so. >.> Wish I could just pile on an ass load of +int gear and do thousands of dmg without worrying about resists.  |

Auster's Staff was down to 650k last time i checked... but they fluctuate sometimes, so don't quote me on that.

(Edit: the magic number seems to be 320 elemental magic skill) The best thing you can do for resists on kirin is to try to get 120+ INT without sacrificing too much elemental magic. It's not that 120 INT is a tier or anything, but INT -DOES- affect resist rates, and some blms have attempted kirin with a 120+ int setup and had substantially fewer resists. Of course, you still have to keep elemental skill relatively high. HQ staff will help a lot though, more than 3 elemental magic, for sure! Edit: Link |

But last kirin fight, i remember at the end Vallis loaded me up with dual +int songs, and the first spell after that (Aero IV) landed for full, then Aero III landed for like 3/4 I think. Better than i'd seen for most of the night. Think I had somethin sick like +60 INT. Edit: Read the post....... one thing they don't mention at all is Magic Attack Bonus.... which I have lots of...... Hmmm, maybe for next Kirin i'll try ditching some MAB for +int stuff and see what happens. Personally I think it'll just kill my dmg, but maybe I won't get resisted so much, if thats the case then i'm all for it. Aero IV for 400 is better than Aero IV for 76. |

I've been trying to figure out the accuracy on kirin too..except i was looking at gravity...
I prolly dont have as much enfeebling + gear as alot of other rdms..(ie. relic hat and nashira pants?)
but i do have alot merits in enfeebling + wind accuracy..and I got an austere staff
I think austere staff definitely helps...but not sure about enfeebling because i've seen other rdms with substantially more enfeebling + than me but still gets resisted as much as i do sometimes.. i say int+ definitely a must for a rdm...
the one time I got almost very few resistant on kirin with gravity was during a windsday...gravity almost always landed...
