Myu is 41, Krash is 47, so the other 4 will meet this Tuesday (May 15th) to do our first exp session (if all goes as planned) at level 37.

Kiona and Fyrigh (played by Myu) will be 2-boxed PL's for as many levels as needed.

Scorpion Harness - 500k (Duh D:)
Utsusemi: Ni - 300k (Duh D:)

Ochiudo's Kote - 700k (Kiona says this is a make or break item ._. so I'm probably going to get a pair)
Chiv. Chain - ~180-200k (DD'ing)
Amemet +1 - ~250k (DD'ing)

Mermaid's Ring - 150k (Enmity)
Iris' Earrings - ~160k/2 (Enmity)
Evasion Torque - ~100k (Tanking)

That's already near 2.4 million gil, and isn't including the gil for tools.

I've purchased Utsusemi: Ni already for 310k, as it seems to have hit as low as it will be for a while (at least until we start). I have 1.7 million gil at the moment left unless we do some kind of BC/KS fight. 500k for the Scorpion Harness would leave me with 1.2 million, and 700k for Ochiudo's Kote (Kiona says I need these to do well ._.) will leave me with 500k. That pretty much covers things that are "required" at the moment for me to play ninja.

However, past that I'm not really sure D: I've never seriously thought about Ninja in depth, so I don't know what kind of setup or mix would be best. I hear, again from Kiona, that I should probably be just all-out DD, since we'll have, well, Kiona as a powerleveler. Then again, I'll probably need to use some spaces for enmity gear and maybe a piece of evasion or two; overall, I don't really know how much I should plan to spend on DD'ing gear, evasion gear, or enmity gear.

With Monk, I would have just "needed" a Scorpion Harness; everything else would just help. I had planned on getting a Scorpion Harness, Cross-Counters, a Chiv. Chain, and maybe a Brown Belt. Then, when I would have gotten to 75'ish, I could get Destroyers and Dune Boots and sell the Cross Counters to get Ochiudo's Kote and upgrade to an Amemet +1. Heck, I would even be able to sell the Scorpion Harness and use the Pahluwan Khazegand, since I only need around 9 more assaults to get it. Thus, my Monk would be pretty pimped out and I would be set.

In all honesty, playing monk at its fullest would be amazingly fun. However, if I am required to be Ninja for the group to really even static, I guess I'm forced down that path. While I don't overly mind, I don't want to be a few weeks down the road saying "I told you so" like a buttface if I lose hate constantly; I didn't plan for the job equipment or experience-wise, so I can't really plan to do well without help.

In recap, Ninja wasn't even really a "second choice" thing, but I'll do it if it means actually having the static work. All I ask is help in actually getting this job to function as it should by doing some group BC/KS fights so I can afford anything that would help me be a better tank for ya'll D: I probably sound greedy, but it will help me help you by tanking as best as I can.

Right now I have 154 BS and 128 KS. I know Jungle Boogymen is a good BS fight, and pretty much any KS fight drops ingots for crafting and cloths for the Vermillion Cloak. I'll be happy with whatever though D:

Ok, seriously, double post or not for bump; we are going to do some kind of BS/KS fights before too long, right? I'm going to camp the Ochimusha Kote NM as much as I can this week. However, in case I don't get them, Ochiudo's kote are going up in price; they might hit 900k before we start.

I know I'm complaining a lot about them. Kiona says they're make or break, and I want to do the best I can for you guys. Thus, I'm kinda' panicking.

I won't need a lot more super-expensive gear until 55-60'ish, but, at the rate things are going, I might run out of gil to play Ninja if we don't do something along the way.

I'll be online to talk and everything for the most part every night this week; I'll be studying while camping the Ochimusha Kote NM to try and relieve myself of this problem.

Just some opinions/recommendations on nin gear:

Scorpion Harness - dun bother, you can borrow mine!  And actually, I'd almost rather you wore a haubergeon in our party, since we'll need every bit of DD we can get D:  But you could use SH, then WS in Hauby, or whichever you prefer (probably depends on what we're fighting)
Utsusemi: Ni - 300k (Duh D:)

Chiv. Chain - ~180-200k (DD'ing) - I can loan you mine during exp, since I can't use it on bard obviously.  Don't worry too much about this piece
Amemet +1 - ~250k (DD'ing) - You can borrow mine if money is tight - I also have an NQ lying around
Mermaid's Ring - 150k (Enmity) - consider an accuracy ring (jaegar, sniper, venerer) + rajas full time instead of enmity.  You don't worry about keeping hate beyond the first 10 seconds of the fight and a voke should pull it back if someone's in trouble without any enmity if you're doing damage.  If you still want to use one, I have one you can borrow
Iris' Earrings - ~160k/2 (Enmity) - Enmity's not too important on nin, but there's not a whole lot for the ear slot.  I used 0 enmity leveling nin to 75 (evasion/DD where slots got the most out of them) and I had hate at most times, with the exception of the obvious (Slug Shot, Freeze, hundred fists, some other monk WS's...).  It's all about the damage =3
Evasion Torque - ~100k (Tanking) - As with all the other enmity/evasion gear, it's great endgame, but for exp I like DD setups =3

These are, of course, my opinions - you're welcome to say "screw you!" and get most of them anyway.  You're an experienced tank, so I wouldn't be offended.  I figured we could cut costs where possible since I'm not DDing and you can use my spare DD gear while leveling.

Additions I'd like to make:
Victory Ring - 120k, borrowable (for WS, paired w/ Rajas starting at 54)
Walkure Mask - +hp, +attack.  I never used it, but I have one lying around you could use when we static if you want total DD.
Nomad's Mantle - Til 61, IMO the other evasion capes aren't worth their pricetags, even nomad's +1.
Potent Belt - The sexy.  200k, borrow-able, and I use swift belt 90% of the time now so not a huge issue.

feet: Federation kyahan til AF is what I used, didn't bother with fumas
legs: Republic subligar (lawl) til 55, then RK pants, mixed in nin AF legs at night if I needed to evade.
earrings: attack earrings or dodge earrings depending...  I used dodge until 60, picked up an elusive, but attack earrings are always an option.
neck: Spike Neck/Spirit Torque til 60/65... mixed in evasion torque and chiv chain.
head: heh, emp pin all the way til 70, unless you want attack from walkure's.
Ammo: Bleh, RSE sachet? lol...  til Bailathorn, and then bomb core (bomb core is soooo awesome)


Take it all with a grain of salt =x Just my personal experiences as ninja.  I felt all-out attack was the way to go, and I let hate bounce a little if shadows were weak (most party members can take hits better than nins can if shadows are down).

I'm sorry you're not too keen on ninja, but I'll bet you'll enjoy it more as you go...  But if you really don't want to play it, then don't =/  Don't let us force you into playing a job you really don't want to do.
